First Visit Guide

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to the clinic. If this is your first acupuncture appointment, you may have questions about what to expect and how to prepare. This guide will help you feel comfortable and confident before your visit.

What to Wear

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your arms and legs.

Acupuncture points are commonly located below the elbows and knees, so clothing that can roll up easily is ideal. Examples include:

  • Loose pants or leggings

  • Shorts

  • T-shirts or tops with sleeves that roll up

  • Comfortable layers

If needed, we also provide draping to ensure your privacy and comfort at all times.

How to Prepare

A little preparation can help you get the most out of your treatment.

Before your appointment:

  • Eat a light meal or snack 1–2 hours beforehand (avoid coming on an empty stomach)

  • Stay hydrated

  • Avoid alcohol prior to treatment

  • Bring a list of medications or supplements you are taking

  • Arrive 10–15 minutes early to complete any necessary paperwork

During your first visit, we’ll complete a detailed health consultation to understand your concerns, medical history, and wellness goals. From there, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan and begin your session.

After treatment, many patients feel relaxed or slightly tired. We recommend allowing yourself time to rest and hydrate.
